Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Embrace Prophet Muhammad’s Virtues

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and incorporate his virtues into their daily lives.

The President’s message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled, “Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Imbibe Virtues of Prophet Muhammad.”

Tinubu urged Muslims to look beyond the celebration of the Prophet’s birth and use the occasion as an opportunity for introspection, prayer and reflection on the exemplary qualities demonstrated throughout his life.

He called on the faithful to make conscious efforts to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, highlighting devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness as important values that remain relevant to society.

The President also appealed to Islamic scholars and other religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and encourage their followers to demonstrate greater commitment to the country by putting the lessons of the Prophet’s life into practice.

He further encouraged Muslims celebrating Eid-el-Maulud to extend kindness and support to the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the occasion.

Tinubu also called for prayers for an end to insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country, urging Nigerians to continue seeking peace and stability.

The President’s message comes as Muslims across Nigeria mark Eid-el-Maulud, a religious occasion commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), with calls for reflection, compassion, unity and adherence to the values associated with his life and teachings.
