The D-Positive Global Impact Foundation has strengthened its commitment to women’s empowerment and wellbeing through its 2026 Annual Human Capital Development Intervention, which featured financial support and a health awareness session for women.
The intervention, themed “Health Matters: Empowering Our Women Through Physiotherapy and Healthy Living,” also received support from Khadijat Islamic Foundation, with financial assistance presented to beneficiaries as part of efforts to support their livelihoods and wellbeing.
Speaking at the programme, the Vice Chairman of D-Positive Global Impact Foundation, Mrs Abisola Aminat Abdulquadri, said the support was a gesture of appreciation and encouragement to the women, stressing that empowerment should also include equipping women with the knowledge to care for their health.
“Today we are reminding you that caring for yourself is not selfish; it is essential,” she said, urging the women to pay attention to their wellbeing and make practical use of the health information provided at the programme.
Mrs Abdulquadri also quoted the Chairman of the Foundation, Mr Nasir Abdulquadri, as saying, “Let us leave this world better than we met it.” She said the philosophy reflects the Foundation’s commitment to making meaningful contributions to the lives of individuals and communities.

The Vice Chairman is a Chemist and Principal Technologist at the University of Ilorin. She holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Lagos and an MSc in Chemistry from the University of Ilorin and is currently pursuing her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Ilorin. The health session was led by Dr Sanjo Ganiyu Adepoju, Head of the Neurology Physiotherapy Unit at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
Dr Adepoju, a clinical leader and specialist in neurological rehabilitation with over three decades of healthcare experience, educated the participants on physiotherapy and healthy living, encouraging them to pay closer attention to their physical wellbeing, adopt healthier practices and seek appropriate professional care when necessary.

He obtained his degree in Physiotherapy from Bayero University, Kano, and further advanced his clinical training through postgraduate programmes in Ghana and South Africa.

The programme also featured a special address by the Chairman, Mr Nasir Abdulquadri.
Mrs Abdulquadri noted that D-Positive Global Impact Foundation’s interventions have reached all 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State, with more than 500 youths and women benefiting from an intervention carried out in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). She added that the Foundation had also supported vulnerable people across the state through the Dangote Foundation.
The intervention reflects the Foundation’s focus on combining financial assistance, health awareness and empowerment support to promote the wellbeing and livelihoods of women.
