Nigeria Energy Sector Fund Records N381m Profit Growth

The Nigeria Energy Sector Fund, overseen by SCM Capital Asset Management Limited, has submitted its audited financial results for the year ended March 31, 2025, to the Nigerian Exchange, reporting strong performance attributed to strategic investments in oil and gas stocks, improved returns from fixed-income instruments and effective cost control.

The Fund’s revenue increased by 30.89 per cent during the 2025 financial year, reaching N444.58m compared with N339.66m in the preceding year. Trading income contributed significantly to the increase, rising to N274.28m from N213.45m in 2024.

Interest earnings from call placements, treasury bills and bonds generated a combined N144.57m, while dividend receipts from the Fund’s equity holdings rose to N25.73m, up from N14.61m in the previous financial year. The increase in dividend income reflected stronger payouts from companies within its investment portfolio.
