How Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Infrastructure Projects Are Reshaping Nigeria’s North-Central Region

Dr. Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for the North-Central region and North Central Coordinator of the Directorate of Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation (APC Presidential Campaign Council), has highlighted major road and bridge projects being delivered across the zone under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a recent Instagram post, Dr. Essiet outlined how these investments are intended to improve connectivity, reduce travel times, and support economic activity across Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.

Key projects she referenced include:

  • The Buruku-Logo Bridge and Makurdi-Gboko Road in Benue
  • The Mararaba-Keffi expansion, which is easing the daily commuting burden for millions of workers travelling into the FCT
  • The Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe-Biu-Maiduguri Superhighway
  • The 401-kilometre Lambata–Bida–Mokwa–Makera–Kontagora highway in Niger State
  • The rehabilitated Gwada-Shiroro Road in Niger State
  • The approved completion of the 71-kilometre Minna-Suleja Road

These projects form part of the broader Renewed Hope infrastructure drive in the North-Central region, aimed at connecting communities and opening up economic opportunities.
