Arigo Technologies International Ltd has launched its digital marketplace platform, MyArigo, as part of efforts to address trust concerns and reduce online scams within Africa’s expanding e-commerce sector.
The platform connects consumers with verified businesses, providing enterprises with an opportunity to improve their visibility while giving customers greater confidence when shopping online.
Africa’s digital economy has expanded significantly in recent years, supported by increased smartphone use and wider access to mobile internet. However, concerns over online fraud, counterfeit goods and unverified vendors continue to affect consumer confidence and the adoption of digital commerce.
Technology analyst at Arigo Technologies International Ltd, Kolawole Badekale, said business verification was essential to the continued development of Africa’s digital economy.

Badekale noted that the future of the continent’s digital economy would depend not only on technological advancement but also on trust, transparency and the participation of credible businesses.
He added that concerns about online fraud, the authenticity of businesses and consumer confidence remained among the issues slowing the growth of digital commerce across Africa.
MyArigo seeks to address these concerns through a verification system that allows legitimate businesses to establish their presence on the platform, connect with their target customers and expand their access to the market.
The company has also introduced the Business Growth Development Programme alongside the marketplace.
The programme enables individuals to participate in business acquisition while receiving commissions and performance incentives for bringing verified businesses onto the platform.
According to the company, the initiative is aimed at creating a dependable digital commerce model that combines consumer protection with greater market opportunities for verified African businesses.
