DHL Express has launched a new domestic shipping service in Nigeria, targeting online retailers, small businesses and individuals looking for a more affordable way to send non-urgent parcels within the country.
Known as Domestic Select, the service is intended to provide customers with more options for transporting parcels across Nigeria as e-commerce and domestic trade continue to grow.
According to DHL, the service will help online retailers and entrepreneurs deliver orders to customers outside their immediate locations, while offering businesses a cheaper alternative for shipments that do not require immediate delivery.
“Businesses today need delivery solutions that are dependable, accessible, and cost-effective,” Country Manager, DHL Express Nigeria, Muyiwa Adeseyoju, said.
“Domestic Select gives customers more flexibility and choice for their less urgent shipments without compromising on reliability,” he added.
The newly introduced service forms part of DHL Express’s existing product portfolio and is expected to complement its domestic shipping services by providing another option for parcels where delivery speed is not the primary requirement.
DHL said Domestic Select is especially suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises, online retailers, entrepreneurs and corporate customers in need of a domestic logistics partner.
The growth of Nigeria’s digital commerce market has increased demand for logistics solutions capable of transporting goods between sellers and customers across various parts of the country. For online retailers, dependable domestic delivery plays an important role in completing orders and reaching customers outside their immediate locations.
The service will also provide individuals with another convenient option for sending parcels to family members and other recipients within Nigeria.
Adeseyoju said DHL was bringing together its logistics network and operational experience with a service developed to address local shipping requirements.

DHL said Domestic Select would also assist businesses looking to enter new markets within Nigeria by providing a shipping solution that considers both delivery needs and cost.
