The Kwara State Government has commenced the bidding process for the procurement of goods under the Kwara State Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Project, in a move aimed at creating employment opportunities, supporting young entrepreneurs and reducing poverty in the state.
The bid-opening exercise took place at the Conference Room of the Kwara-SAPZ Coordination Office, with bidders, stakeholders and representatives of non-governmental organisations in attendance.
Representing the Kwara-SAPZ Project Coordinator, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, the Project Infrastructure Engineer, Engr. Dr. Ezekiel Olanrewaju Ariyo, said the intervention was focused on promoting job creation, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and poverty reduction.
He noted that the initiative would provide support to small and emerging businesses, enabling beneficiaries to establish, strengthen and expand their enterprises.
The Procurement Officer, Mr. Kabir Yinka Ibiyemi, said the bidding process was conducted transparently and in accordance with approved procurement procedures. He added that the submitted bids would be sent to the Evaluation Committee for further assessment.
Five companies submitted bids for the project. They include Toskhaat Investment Nig. Ltd, Armat Integrated Services Ltd, Net Focus Technologies Ltd, Anazemma Global Enterprises Ltd and Rowdill Company Ltd.
Speaking on the process, representatives of Net Focus Technologies Ltd, Mr. A. Raphael, and Armat Integrated Services, Mr. Michael Areo, described the exercise as transparent and fair.
The intervention is expected to provide young people and emerging entrepreneurs in Kwara with essential resources to improve their businesses and strengthen their livelihoods.
