Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Elevated to CIPM Fellowship: A Mark of Professional Excellence

In a moment that speaks to the rising standard of leadership across Nigeria and the continent, Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has been formally decorated as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

As a long-standing and active member of the Institute, the Governor was among the 71 professionals elevated and admitted into the Body of Fellows—the highest professional grade at the 58th CIPM International Conference & Exhibition held in Abuja in September. His consistent engagement and support for the Institute’s work have been well noted, including the strong presence of Lagos State, which sent over 500 delegates to the conference.

Although the Governor was unable to attend the investiture ceremony in Abuja due to his participation at the United Nations General Assembly in the United States, CIPM leadership paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos State Government House, Marina, on Tuesday, 13 October. There, he was formally decorated with the Fellowship.

This recognition affirms a deeper truth: Africa’s progress is built by leaders who invest in professional standards, continuous learning, and institutional excellence. When public servants pursue the highest levels of competence and remain committed to the growth of professional bodies, they raise the bar for governance and service delivery.

At NASTV Africa, we celebrate this milestone. It is another reminder that when Africans honour excellence, invest in capacity, and lead with professionalism, we manifest the greatness of our continent.

WE MANIFEST AFRICA’S GREATNESS.
